The 2025 edition of the JPS Foreign Stamp Catalog New China Stamps covers in detail the stamps of China from the founding of the People's Republic of China on October 1st, 1949, through September 2024, as well as stamps issued after Janury 1997, when Hong Kong was returned to the motherland. The title has been changed from JPS Foreign Stamp Catalog New China Stamps.
Since the 2015 edition, Hong Kong, China and Macau, China have been alternately collected and edited every other year, so the 2025 edition will be Hong Kong, China.
This catalog includes approx. 6'100 types of Chinese stamps (excluding Hong Kong and Macau stamps). The environment surrounding Chinese stamps has changed significantly in recent years due to the depreciation of the yen, and in the 2025 edition, the evaluations have been revised based on the current exchange rate situation, trends in the domestic market, and the Chinese stamp catalogs of each country. In addition, this edition, the quotations of China Hong Kong stamps have also been revised overall, just like China stamps.
In the 2023 edition, the evaluation of FDC has been completely revised. China Post has been producing FDCs continuously since 1957, except during the Cultural Revolution and the period before and after it. However, the number of FDCs from 1949 to 1967 was overwhelmingly small, and they are rarely available in the philatelic markets of China, Hong Kong, Taiwan. Therefore, there may be cases where the evaluation is significantly different from this evaluation or the postmark is counterfeit, so care should be taken when purchasing them

Until the 2020 edition, stamps were listed in the ordre of issue, regardless of whether they were commemorative, special, or ordinary stamps. If a set was issued in several installments, they were all listed in the first issue. However, from the 2021 edition onwards, the publisher has rearranged them by edition and era (issue date). In the 2022 edition, the previous order of stamp batches of <J> and <T> has been divided into <J> and <T> own sections. Stamp booklets and ordinary stamps are listed at the end of the volume:
Among the stamps included in the collection, the commemorative <J> special new edition and <T> edition stamps have a serial number called the "edition". <J> stands for the commemorative stamp "JINIAN" in the roman alphabet and <T> stands foro the stamp "TEZHONG".
The size of the stamps are 50% or 60% of the actual size. For smal sheets the reduction ratio or dimensions are indicated.
This edition of the "SJPS Foreign Stamp Catalog New China Stamps 2025" records all issues released until October 2024. The catalog commitee improved the pages layout so stamp illustrations are easy to see and data are easy to understand.
