The new NVPH Catalogus Postzegels Nederland 2023 will be published on September15 with an unprecedented number of changes and improvements that make the purchase of this catalog more than worthwhile this year:

• Over 500 new images
• Over 800 text changes and additions
• More than 2,500 price adjustments
• Free blueprint number 20
• Theme Emission 1923 100 years
• Improved year table

Over 500 new images

Most striking is the fact that this year, for the first time in the history of the NVPH Catalogus Postzegels Nederland, we are displaying all franking stamps in full glory. It is not only a beautiful sight, it is also true that a color image says more than a color description.

More than 800 text corrections and additions

Improvements have been made to the texts and descriptions in the catalog on numerous points. A very remarkable one is the name change of the 1891 issue from 'Prinses Wilhelmina' to the correct 'Koningin Wilhelmina'. But, partly based on comments from users, many small and larger improvements and clarifications have been made.

More than 2,500 price adjustments

In general, we see that especially the material from before 1920 and specialized material are well marketed. However, prices have also been reduced for material that is less popular on the market. We do see that since the corona many collectors have picked up their hobby again and that it is becoming more difficult to find recent material. Especially canceled stamps from the past ten years are scarce. A number of King Willem Alexander stamps with different dates are also highly sought after and have significantly increased in price. Recent first-day envelopes have short runs and the trade has hardly any stock of them, which means that price increases are also recorded here.

There are major price shifts within the children's series with the roller perforation.

All the prices for the used blocks and sheets were reviewed in this edition.

Improved year table

The table with all prizes added up is back in a much improved and expanded form. This makes it a lot easier to calculate the catalog value of a partly complete collection.

Extensive catalog

This extensive catalog also includes all first day envelopes, stamp booklets, prestige booklets, stamp folders and varieties.

Emission 1923 100 years

The 1923 emission will be 100 years old in 2023. This theme is elaborated in the catalog by a story about this iconic issue. The blueprint also shows a stamp from this series and on the beautiful cover a slightly modified version of the orange 10 cent to add luster to the anniversary.

About the NVPH

In 2018, the editiorial committee NVPH has adapted its publication agenda to accommodate and meet the wishes of the stamps collectors of the Netherlands. Until 2018, the NVPH committee published yearly a Special Catalogus of the Netherlands and Overseas Territories, and a so-called Junior catalog of the Netherlands.

The Junior Catalog is no longer be published and was replaced by the NVPH catalogus Nederland. The NVPH catalogus Nederland will be published the even years in September (2018, 2020,..) whereas the NVPH Special Catalogus Nederland & Overzeese gebiedsdelen the odd year in September as well (2019, 2021,...)

The first edition of the NVPH catalogus Nederland 2019 catalogs only the stamps of the Netherlands. The content is more extensive and provides all necessary information such as plate numbers, perforations and types of post stamps and, where possible, other details, errors and misprints. Are also present the stamp booklets, airmail stamps, postage due, service marks, telegram stamps, internment stamps, machine brands, blueprints, postage paid stamps and a special section roll stamps perforation. This 1st edition again contains many additions, text changes, improvements and extensive information including types and perforations.

In short, a bit less than the NVPH Special Catalogus because sections such as pre-war stamp booklets, first day covers, plate errors, stamps on covers are missing in this edition (as well as the overseas territories).

 The first edition was published with the 16th edition of the Blueprint was added and also a transparent and black perforation meter.  The catalog commission of the NVPH intended to make this catalog user friendly to worldwide by including a glossary of common terms in use in the catalog in several languages (English, Spanish and Chinese).
