Manuel Garcia y Rodriguez is a XIX-century Andalusian painter. He belongs to costumbrismo - a transdisciplinary artistic movement interested in representing different customs. The current developed in Spain, especially in Seville, between 1830 and the end of the XIX century. The gardens of the Alcazar were a great inspiration for the painter and this canvas is one of his many works on the subject.
