We've previously discussed Stamp Shows 2024, and today we’ll shift our focus to upcoming winter stamp shows. Specifically, we'll explore UK-based events, reviewing those remaining in 2024 and previewing what’s scheduled for 2025.

The Great Britain Philatelic Society

The Great Britain Philatelic Society has organized several noteworthy events during this period. I would like to highlight the following:

• Saturday 23rd November 2024 - Rise of the Flying Boats & Empire Airmail Scheme - WWII (“The display focuses on the civilian airmail route to and from Australia and New Zealand for the period 1937-50. Divided into the 3 main periods, it charts the introduction of the iconic flying boats to operate the Empire Airmail Scheme (1937-39), followed by the impact of WW2 on the mail rates and routes (1939-45) and ending after peace was declared with the reintroduction of air services and the new routes that meant you could, for the first time, fly round the world in either direction (1945-50). The display uses a lot of original supporting ephemera and covers to enhance the story.”) & Postage Due Mail from 1839 to the Present Day (“The display looks at the treatment of charged mail by the British Post Office from 1839 until the present day, showing why items were deemed to be underpaid, how charges were calculated and collected, the explanatory and charge marks used, use of postage due stamps, errors in charges, and unusual categories of mail such as printed matter, newspapers, postcards, parcel post, parliamentary proceedings, jury summons, registered, express, maritime mail, campaign and forces mail, T.P.Os and redirection.”)
